Southern Wine Region of Tasmania

Tasmania produces delicious pinot noir and riesling due to cool climates.  Tassie's mild summers and long autumn days allow the grapes to slowly ripen.  There are several distinct wine areas in the state showing off a growing boutique wine industry, and we were able to taste a few on the Southern wine Route.

Along the way, we visited St. John's built in 1836.  This is the oldest Catholic church in Australia located in the town of Richmond.

Oldest bridge in Australia built from 1823-25 from local convict labor.
